This short story is the original inspiration for the classic Christmas film It's a Wonderful Life.
The story was written in 1939 and initially self-published by the author as a Christmas card sent to friends and family in 1943 after facing difficulty finding a publisher.
The plot centers on a man named George Pratt (Bailey in the film) who contemplates suicide on Christmas Eve and is shown by an angel what the world would be like if he had never been born.
One of the original 200 Christmas cards reached the hands of Frank Capra, who shared it with Jimmy Stewart, ultimately leading to the production of the beloved 1946 film.
The only issue with this book is the cover; dust jacket, has two tears in it. Please refer to photo number 2 for reference. Other than that, the book is in like new condition. No writing within, pages are clean and clear. Illustrations are clear and vibrant. Nice book to add to any Christmas collection!
