This collection of films was released in 1988 by Polish master Krzysztof Kieślowski, known for the "Three Colors Trilogy" ("Blue," "White," "Red") and "The Double Life of Veronique." "Deca" means "ten," and "Logue" means "words." Based on the Ten Commandments of the Old Testament, this collection delicately and vividly depicts the love and loneliness of people living in the modern world, as if peering into their hearts. It is a collection of 10 heart-stirring masterpieces. Originally produced as a television series, its high quality garnered acclaim, and it was screened at the 1989 Venice International Film Festival, later released worldwide and praised. Stanley Kubrick lauded this work as an "important film" upon its release. In addition, many filmmakers, including Edward Yang and Hou Hsiao-hsien, envied and praised Kieślowski's talent.
